Blast From The Past - RWC 2004

Since we're sending a lucky pRO team to Korea pretty soon for this year's Ragnarok World Championships 2007, I want to share with you a gem I found in the web.

It's actually my own account and tournament report when I was there in Seoul with Rebirth and Unholy in 2004 for the first RWC.

First match of the day and first assignment for Team Philippines is
Indonesia: Rebirth is up against the Indonesian Loki Guild "One Batz". Initially, we thought we could secure the victory but we were all surprised with their strategy.

Coming off the countdown, Rebirth came out strong and was defensive initially. Spotting a lone Hunter below the screen, Rebirth melee group was quick on the attack but the hunter proved to be Indonesia's surprise weapon. The Indon hunter was a "Trapper" build. FYI, trappers are built primarily to lay down traps and slow down the opponent. Trappers are basically INT-AGI-VIT and carry NO bows. They pack tons of traps and try to play decoy. Unfortunately, our players complained that they COULD NOT see the traps on their screen, hence they lost valuable time in trying to regroup. At any rate, Indonesia, with the aid of the trapper disrupting the Philippine formation, took advantage of this and started to immobilize our Knights with SG.
